My Half.com, cheaper than any other place, copy of Breaking the Vicious Cycle is signed by the author. How cool is that? I think it's an omen or at least a good sign.
I am going through the book this weekend, so we can get started with the diet on Tuesday. I know that people at work are going to think I'm crazy for only eating chicken broth and eggs for the next few weeks. I am ok with that.
If I'm going to make J do this, then I'm doing it, too. I know that the few times I have tried to become vegetarian there was no way I was going to drag him along with me. And it's so tough to eat tofu when someone is sitting across the table having a delicious, fat, juicy cheeseburger.
My favorite thing about this book is the vast online community it has created. The book itself has a ton of recipes, but just google Specific Carbohydrate Diet recipes and see what comes up. So many variations on a theme.
I am starting to wonder how I will be able to continue to participate in the Daring Baker's Challenge. Unless I can substitute yogurt and honey for ingredients in their fun recipes, it will definitely be a challenge.
