He Beat the Odds!

Derrick Coleman, now famous for his Superbowl 48 win over the Broncos, is rising to fame. Working to accomplish this goal was not easy; however, hard work is not new to him. Being legally deaf, Coleman has worked hard his entire life. Now, he has added two accomplishments to his life: becoming the first Seahawks player to be legally deaf, and bringing home the first Superbowl victory for the Seattle Seahawks.

Coleman was diagnosed legally deaf at age three, bullied from a young age, and told he was a lost cause. However, he found his niche in grade school when he started playing football. With the encouragement of his father, he continued to play through high school and college.

Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman was signed to the Seattle Seahawks in 2012.  He was the first legally deaf drafted Seahawks player in 2012, and shared his team’s number one win in Superbowl 48 in 2014.  Coleman acted on his belief in his undeniable inner success power—he beat the odds.

You don’t have to hear to be able to listen.

You are never defeated; never give up and win!  I invite you to comment and share your personal victories.
