Coincidence:
My dream of writing was shattered the day I stared down at that monster F written on my English paper. The words of my professor resonate to this day, “You are not a writer. If you want to eat in this lifetime, change your major.” He spoke those words with so much disdain. It tainted my spirit and crippled my motivation to write.
Attempting to squelch the desire, I studied sociology and became a social worker, yet the aspiration to write continued to be a longing in my heart. Then one day my friend invited me to meet her at Starbucks. I never thought I would thank God that my friend never showed up to coffee. While waiting in line for her, I met a man who happened to be a writer, an English professor, and a meticulous editor. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I believe things fall together when you’re open to God’s plan. God had his hand in this—and I am fulfilling my lifelong dream.
Reflection: Practice Faith: In life, when a naysayer tells you that you’re incapable of fulfilling your dreams, turn away. Naysayers cannot see your vision. It’s your dream God placed in your heart. In spite of your current circumstances, practice Faith to believe you will have all that you need to manifest your desires. “Things fall together.”
Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”
